L.E.G.O.S.
(Love Every Gift Of the Spirit):
The Building Blocks of Faith

We are so blessed to introduce our amazing speaker Dr. Carol Jacobson!

Carol, as she puts it, has a “Ph.D in God.” She is a speaker, teacher, and a seminary professor at Pacific Lutheran Theological Seminary. She is great at translating the building blocks of our faith into language that ‘tweens and teens can understand. We are VERY EXCITED to have her leading us this weekend!

The 2008 Senior High Faith and Leadership Retreat

"AmazingRACE"

October 17th - 19th, 2008
Mt. Cross Lutheran Camp – Felton, CA

We had an exciting weekend for all of our participants! Our theme was “AmazingRace” – but it’s more like two themes in one! Get it? - The “Amazing Race” (like the TV show) and God’s “Amazin’ Grace!” Sometimes we run our life like it’s a race, but if we can stop and accept and reflect on God’s grace in our lives, that race turns into an Amazing Race of GRACE where we are all winners!

Word in Hands

3rd - 6th Grade Camp

Don't forget - each year we make a movie too, starring you!

The dates for these events will be announced soon, so start planning for one of these wonderful weekends.

We can't wait to see you at our events next year!

So what is the SPSYC?

We are a dynamic group of student and adult volunteers, devoted to service to our God, our Church, our congregations, and our fellow Christians. Each year new members are elected to the committee for 2 year terms at the October High School Event. Maybe you'd like to be on the committee! Here's how.

We belong to ELCA Lutheran Churches across Northern California and Northern Nevada. We practice our faith by serving others, learning how to live Christ-centered lives by ministering to the young people of our communities and congregations.

Each year we plan and host four weekend events for young people from 3rd grade through high school. All are held at beautiful Mount Cross Lutheran Camp in the Santa Cruz Mountains.

Each event starts on Friday evening and ends by noon on Sunday. Activities include singing, indoor and outdoor games, dynamic speakers, music, special workshops and crafts, worship, Bible study, and much, much more.
